French packaging group Albea agrees 12-MWp solar off-take deal
Sep 19, 2024 5:38 CEST(ADPnews) - Feb 14, 2011 - French solar power companies are worried that the new regulatory framework planned by the government can lead to a drastic decrease in feed-in tariffs, which would affect the sector's future, daily Les Echos wrote today.
The government, which imposed in December a three-month moratorium on solar power prices for state-owned utility EDF (EPA:EDF), wants to define the new rules before March 8, when the moratorium expires.
In an attempt to set lower rates for the purchased solar power, the French State decided that during the three-month period, EDF, as well as non-nationalised electricity distributors, will not be obliged to pay the current prices for solar power, except for individual facilities.
This week, government officials Jean-Michel Charpin and Claude Trink are expected to submit a final report on the matter to the government.
