Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTJun 27, 2013 - French renewable energy group Akuo Energy said yesterday it had won a contract, worth some EUR 80 million (USD 104.2m), for the construction of a photovoltaic plant of 41 MW in Mali.
The project, for which Akuo still needs to secure financing, will be carried out in partnership with Mali's electricity company Energie du Mali and R20, a non-profit organisation which helps regions implement renewable energy projects.
The French company hopes to be involved in other hydroelectric projects in Mali for a total 160 MW.
Akuo Energy posted revenues of EUR 72 million in 2012 and targets a global production capacity of 3,000 MW by 2018.
