Clime Capital to invest up to USD 10m in Philippine solar firm UGEP
Sep 11, 2024 14:25 CESTOct 16, 2013 - French nuclear engineer Areva (EPA:AREVA) said today that it had been selected, together with its partner Engcon Energy Philippines, to build a 12 MW biomass power plant in the Philippines, to be ready by mid-2015.
No financial details were disclosed.
Under the contract, signed with independent energy group Green Innovations for Tomorrow, Areva and its partner will be in charge of engineering, design and installation of the facility. They will also provide the main equipment and will perform testing before the commissioning.
The site will use rice husk for fuel and will cover the annual electricity requirements of some 10,000 households.
Areva has already built similar units in Thailand. The group has so far delivered 100 power plants worldwide, for a total installed capacity of 2,500 MW.
