FRV gets order to build 50 MW solar plant in Uruguay - report

Jul 23, 2013 - Spanish solar energy company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has been awarded a contract to build a 50 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Uruguay, the firm said in a statement, cited by news agency EFE.

The facility, to be located in the city of Salto, should be put on stream in 2014.

The plant will be equipped with almost 225,000 solar panels, which will be enough to power some 20,000 households in the area.

FRV has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 30 years.
