Shoals ties up with UUES for solar EBOS manufacturing in Saudi Arabia
Sep 06, 2024 15:19 CESTUS manufacturer of solar racking systems GameChange Solar has joined forces with China’s Jiangsu Zhenjiang New Energy Equipment Co Ltd (SHA:603507), or JZNEE, to build a 3-GW tracker factory in Saudi Arabia.
The proposed facility offers the potential to be expanded to 5 GW in size. According to GameChange Solar’s statement, the project will be executed in order to meet the rising local content requirements in the Middle East region.
The production plant will be located in Dammam, the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and will manufacture solar tracker components for GameChange Solar's Genius Tracker. The list of products includes non-steel components such as actuators, node controllers and drive systems.
The factory is expected to become operational by June 2024.
In addition to making the hardware locally, GameChange Solar will provide after-sales support and service the equipment. The company noted its Genius Tracker has been ordered for major projects in the Middle East, one of them being the 560-MW Abydos Kom Ombo complex in Egypt.
"Our partnership with JZNEE and expansion into the Middle East underscores our commitment to growing our global renewable energy presence,” said Vikas Bansal, president International at GameChange Solar.
