Coca-Cola Europacific seals virtual solar PPA with Engie Australia
Sep 19, 2024 5:33 CESTUS-based solar racking manufacturer GameChange Solar announced today it is starting a global expansion, with an initial focus on Latin America.
The company said in a statement that it will look to launch in select European and Central American markets, Mexico, South America and Australia. Initial penetration there is expected this year, with "meaningful market share development" commencing in 2020.
Up until now, GameChange Solar was focused on the US market but it still made intentional sales in the Caribbean, Africa and Canada. The company noted that now is the right time to further expand globally.
GameChange Solar director Max Johnson told Renewables Now that the company’s current goal is to expand in Latin America and that, for the time being, it will continue to produce its fixed tilt racking and tracker equipment in the US.
To date, GameChange Solar has sold systems exceeding 4 GW. Earlier this month, the company said that megawatts of total fixed tilt and tracker systems shipped jumped over 160% year-on-year to about 1.5 GW in 2018. At the same time, revenues and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) surged by 140% and 150%, respectively.
