Gamesa to ship 72.5 MW of wind turbines to Turkey, Cyprus, Kuwait

Spanish wind power group Gamesa (BME:GAM) said Tuesday it has inked contracts to supply a total of 72.5 MW of wind turbines for projects in Turkey, Cyprus and Kuwait.

Ado Enerji has ordered 40 MW of Gamesa’s machines for three developments in Turkey, including seven G114-2.0 MW turbines for the Akyurt project, just as many for the Konakpinari scheme and a further six of the same model for the Karacayir development. The Spanish firm has also agreed to operate and maintain (O&M) all of the said wind farms for five years. Thanks to the MaxPower technology, the combined nominal capacity of the turbines will reach 42 MW.

Also in Turkey, Gamesa has agreed to deliver 12.5 MW of its G114-2.5 MW model to Kazanci Holding for the Datca wind farm. Deliveries under all Turkish orders are scheduled for the second quarter of 2016.

In Cyprus, Gamesa will supply five of its G114-2.0 MW turbines totalling 10 MW to local conglomerate Aeoliki Akti for the Sanida Kelaki wind project. They will be delivered during the spring of 2016.

As per the Kuwaiti order, Elecnor and local partner Alghanim have purchased five G97-2.0 MW turbines totalling 10 MW for the country’s debut wind farm, which is expected to be commissioned by 2016.
