Statkraft connects 44.5-MW solar farm to grid in Spain
Sep 19, 2024 15:28 CESTOct 3, 2013 - Gas Natural Fenosa (MCE:GAS) has halved to two from four the number of biomass projects it will develop in Spain, news portal Alimarket Energia said today.
The plans of Gas Natural's renewable energy arm have been affected by the current situation in the green energy sector in Spain marked by significantly reduced incentives and feed-in tariffs.
Thus, Gas Natural will proceed only with the development of two 10-MW biomass plants in Galicia and Extremadura.
Last year, the renewable energy unit of the group had an installed capacity of 1,113 MW, up 4.9% in annual terms. Of that, 968 MW were wind power projects, 75 MW co-generation ones and 69 MW small hydropower units.
