GC China Turbine plans wind turbine production relocation

(ADPnews) - May 5, 2011 - Chinese twin-blade wind turbine maker GC China Turbine Corp (OTC:GCHT) will temporarily relocate its production to another facility in Wuhan from the East-Lake Development Zone, the company announced yesterday.

The new assembly plant will serve as an interim for an ultimate production relocation to Taonan, Jilin Province, scheduled before end-2011.

The move is part of the GC China's strategy aiming to expand the company's portfolio with 2.5 MW wind turbines. The current facility in East-Lake Development Zone, originally designed to produce accessories for small aircraft, is considered as not sufficient to meet assembly requirements of the larger scale wind turbines, the manufacturer commented. The new plant in Taonan is projected to have annual production capacity of up to 500 MW and will be capable of banging out 200 units of 2.5 MW wind turbines.

Meanwhile, the interim facility, provided by the Wuhan Municipal Government at favorable costs, satisfies all existing assembly requirements for 1 MW and 1.1 MW turbines, the company's chairman Hou Tiexin said, adding that the move will not create any delays.

GC China noted that its administrative office will continue to stay in Wuhan.
