Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CEST(ADPnews) - May 19, 2011 - French utility GDF Suez (EPA:GSZ), nuclear group Areva (EPA:CEI) and builder Vinci (EPA:DG) announced yesterday their partnership in the offshore wind power sector.
The partners will jointly take part in offshore wind power tenders worth EUR 10 billion (USD 14bn) recently announced by the authorities. The turbines will be located between Saint-Nazaire in the Loire-Atlantique department and Le Treport in the Seine-Maritime department. They are expected to be operational in 2015.
The partnership agreement will cover exclusively three of the five areas which are eligible for offshore wind energy projects.
Recently, renewable energy specialist EDF Energies Nouvelles (EPA:EEN) and heavy engineering specialist Alstom (EPA:ALO) also joined forces in the wind power sector.
