GE eyes wind energy, compressor station, gas turbine projects in Serbia - govt

General Electric is interested in a wide range of cooperation opportunities in Serbia, including the implementation of a wind farm project exceeding 300 million euro ($406 million) in value, the government in Belgrade said on Tuesday, quoting prime minister Ivica Dacic.

In addition to cooperation in the generation of electricity, General Electric is interested in taking part in the construction of compression stations and gas turbines as part of the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline in cooperation with Russia's Gazprom and state-owned Srbijagas, a government statement quoted Dacic as saying after meeting with GE officials in New York during his two-day overseas visit.
