Argentina’s Genneia has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with an industrial customer in the country, taking on the obligation to supply 100% renewable energy for a period of seven years.

The power firm struck the agreement with flour milling company Molino Argentino SA, committing to supply clean electricity to its mill in the town of Open Door in Buenos Aires province.

The PPA was facilitated through Argentina’s MATER green energy marketplace for large electricity consumers. Under the terms, Genneia will power the Open Door plant will electricity from its own wind and solar farms.

The power company has exactly 1,004 MW of operational renewables in the South American country, installed across seven wind and three solar farms.
