India’s Gensol Engineering Ltd (BOM:542851) has been awarded a contract worth INR 7.8 billion (USD 92.7m/EUR 85.1m) to develop and build a 150-MW solar park on behalf of a public sector utility in the state of Maharashtra.

The turnkey contract calls for Gensol to execute the job over 15 months, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor said in a bourse filing on Sunday. The name of the utility and specific details about its project were not disclosed.

The scope of the award includes land acquisition, design, engineering, procurement and logistics related to the project, as well as the supply, installation and commissioning of the photovoltaic (PV) farm. Gensol will be also tasked with the development of infrastructure facilities that will evacuate the plant’s output to the substation.

Additionally, the contract will see Gensol oversee the solar farm’s operations and maintenance for three years, including its switchyard and transmission infrastructure.

“This significant project is a testament to Gensol’s growing expertise as a provider of comprehensive, end-to-end solar solutions,” said Shilpa Urhekar, CEO Solar EPC India at Gensol.
