GeoGenix to install USD-1.4m solar system in New Jersey

Apr 20, 2012 - US solar system installer GeoGenix is to design and install a USD-1.4-million (EUR 1m) rooftop solar facility to cover 90% to 100% of the power consumption of Rug Renovating Co's headquarters in New Jersey.

The solar system is to be completed by the middle of 2012, the solar power company said in a statement on Thursday.

Under the order from the carpet cleaning, repair and restoration firm, GeoGenix is to install 1,200 solar panels to generate some 363,000 kWh of power a year. This is expected to cut Rug Renovating's monthly electricity costs by USD 3,500 to USD 4,000. The solar facility will also offset 605,000 pounds (274,000 kg) of carbon dioxide emission annually, according to GeoGenix's calculations.
