World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CEST(SeeNews) – Oct 8, 2012 - German photovoltaic (PV) technology producer Aleo Solar (ETR:AS1) introduced on October 1 part-time work in its plant in Prenzlau, in the state of Brandenburg, spokesman Hermann Iding told the online edition of Photovoltaik monthly on Monday.
Aleo Solar and the works council agreed on the move as a temporary measure aiming to preserve jobs at the plant, Iding explained for Photovoltaik.
Subsidies for solar power were lowered almost simultaneously on all the major markets of Aleo Solar. As a result, the company‘s sales in France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the UK decreased.
The spokesman added that Aleo Solar now needs to adjust its production volumes. The working hours were slightly reduced even beforehand, while contracts of temporary workers were not extended.
However, Aleo Solar plans to again ramp up production next year.
