PNE wins 24 MW of onshore wind projects in German auction
Sep 19, 2024 8:35 CESTMay 30, 2013 - Around 30% of the 18,000 jobs in the offshore wind farm sector may be scrapped if the sector does not get a push as expected, dpa reported Wednesday citing the German Labour Agency.
This is more than each fourth job or up to 5,000 positions, Klaus Stietenroth, head of the agency unit responsible for the region Lower Saxony - Bremen, said.
Politicians have also recognised this problem. Germany's environment minister Peter Altmaier considers that the job security in the offshore sector is important for the entire region.
Lower Saxony's prime minister Stephan Weil has recently also expressed his concern about the jobs in the sector due to poor planning security.
The main problems with the crisis-hit offshore wind sector are sluggish electricity transition network, unclear policies and difficult authority approvals.
