German Manz CEO downplays possible Tesla order - report

Apr 9, 2014 - The CEO of Manz AG (ETR:M5Z) has played down the possibility of the German engineering company receiving a contract from US electric car maker Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA).

Tesla does not feature prominently in Manz's internal plans, Dieter Manz told German magazine Der Aktionaer.

Tesla Motors plans to build a battery "gigafactory" and financial market letters speculate that Manz will be asked to provide equipment.

Manz was among the top gainers on the high-tec TecDAX index on Tuesday after LBBW said the likelihood of Manz landing a EUR-100-million (USD 138m) solar contract is increasing.
