Jordan Green agrees land deal for solar-powered green ammonia hub
Sep 20, 2024 5:52 CEST(ADPnews) - Sep 14, 2010 - German wind turbine manufacturer PowerWind GmbH said yesterday that it had kicked off construction works on the 3.6 MW Sitalcaj wind farm, its first in Azerbaijan.
The company has already prepared two out of four foundations for the wind turbines of 900 kW each. All generators are scheduled to come on stream in October.
The Sitalcaj wind power project will be located near Baku, eastern Azerbaijan. It will be owned and operated by industrial enterprise Trans TS MMC.
According to plans, the facility will be expanded by adding seven more turbines of the type PowerWind 56, characterised by compact design and encapsulation against weather conditions.
Oil-dependent Azerbaijan has been lately investing more into wind energy. More than 250 MW of wind power capacity are currently in the planning phase in the country which had just two turbines up and running at the beginning of this year. The country's government has earlier announced to up the share of renewable power by 3% to 5% within the next few years.
