Uniper delays EUR 8bn investment plan amid weak hydrogen demand
Nov 08, 2024 15:04 CESTFeb 28, 2013 – The volume of newly installed photovoltaic (PV) capacity in Germany is expected to plunge by around 49% on the year to 3.9 GW in 2013, according to a study of Bonn-based market research institute EuPD Research.
The results of the study are based on discussions with key decision-makers in the sector, held during the institute's “German PV Market Briefing”.
Last year, Germany installed new capacity of 7.6 GW.
According to the analysts, this year's focus will fall on big PV facilities, which will account for the lion's share of new installations, particularly in eastern Germany. A peak in solar construction is expected in June and July.
In addition, EuPD projects that the solar module and system prices will continue to fall, triggering tougher competition among PV manufacturers. The significant reduction in newly installed capacity could also oust many PV installation firms from the market.
