World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTSep 16, 2013 - German SMA Solar Technology AG has entered into a cooperation deal with several local e-mobility specialists, in order to advance further in terms of energy management, SMA said today.
Together with Belectric Drive GmbH, Mennekes Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH and Schletter GmbH, SMA will work on solutions for integrating charging stations in the household energy management. This will present a more effective way for operators of photovoltaics systems to use the produced energy, SMA said.
E-cars have strong potential in the frame of the country's energy transition, and PV systems are ideal for the purpose as the cars can be directly charged at the electricity generation site, SMA CTO Roland Grebe said, adding that thus the operators can raise their energy consumption and spare considerable costs. In addition, this will have an easing effect on the grid.
SMA has already started collaborating with car makers Volkswagen (ETR:VOW) and BMW (ETR:BMW) in the field of e-mobility research.
