German PV project developer Fellensiek Projektmanagement GmbH & Co KG has filed for insolvency due to liquidity difficulties, law firm Pluta said on Wednesday.

The district court in the German town of Wilhelmshaven has ordered preliminary insolvency administration and appointed Christian Kaufmann from Pluta as the preliminary insolvency administrator.

The company faced difficulties due to claims from an investor amounting to millions, the law firm said.

Fellensiek Projektmanagement is a holding entity with about 20 project firms. According to the statement, the insolvency proceedings do not cover the project companies and business operations are continuing.

Pluta added that all options for Fellensiek will be analysed in the coming weeks. Among others, the insolvency administrator will hold talks with parties interested in taking over the PV projects.

The German solar sector has recently faced a number of insolvency cases, including those of PV micro-inverter maker Solarnative GmbH, solar technology supplier Bosswerk and Mini-PV provider Solovoltaik.
