World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTDec 9, 2013 - German municipal utility cooperative Trianel said today it had developed a new marketing concept which differs from the known photovoltaic roof lease models.
According to Trianel, the new concept will be most driven by end consumers who want to use the self-produced solar power for themselves.
Michel Nicolai, head of the decentralised production unit of Trianel, said that the EnergieDach model allows utilities to offer new energy services that enable clients to install a customised photovoltaic facility without additional financial costs.
As part of the EnergieDach concept, the utility takes responsibility for the investments, the construction and the operation of the facility. Then the client takes the equipment under a lease contract and uses the produced power for his/her own needs. Under the current regulation, the consumption of self-produced electricity is not chargeable and the client will only have to pay a basic price as a leasing fee. The client will also have to deliver the unconsumed power to the utility.
With the help of the web-based EnergieDach software, Trianel said it will manage to calculate the optimal size of the facility for every client.
Between January and September 2013, a total of 69,277 photovoltaic facilities with capacity of up to 10 KW each were installed in Germany.
