German renewables developer PNE recruits Heiko Wuttke as new CEO
Sep 20, 2024 14:12 CEST(ADPnews) - Jun 8, 2011 - Voith Turbo Marine Engineering, part of German mechanical engineering group Voith GmbH, said on Monday it had developed a system for transporting people and goods to offshore wind parks.
The system consists of a swivel arm robot, allowing the transfer of people and goods between vessels and from vessels to offshore wind facilities. The solution is called Voith Offshore Shuttle and was developed in co-operation with German machine building company Momac.
The system features a transport basket with a capacity of 250 kg (551 pounds). The combination of the Voith Inline Thruster and Voith Schneider Propeller systems enables dynamic positioning of the ship, the company said.
According to Voith Turbo Marine Engineering, there is "a growing market for this new ship concept."
