PNE wins 24 MW of onshore wind projects in German auction
Sep 19, 2024 8:35 CESTAug 26, 2014 - Weserwind, a German maker of rotor blades and foundations for offshore wind farms, plans to cut 130 jobs, or a third of its workforce, due to dwindling new orders, regional newspaper Nordseezeitung reported.
Weserwind head Michael Schiller told employees on Monday the company would pursue a reorientation that will see Weserwind shift its focus to heavy structural engineering, the report said.
Trade union IG Metall praised the company's decision to diversify away from offshore wind farm construction. Negotiations on a social plan are to begin next week.
Weserwind GmbH was founded in 2002 and is based in Bremerhaven.
