World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTOct 2, 2014 - Electricity generation from wind and solar energy in Germany fell by 11.7% year-on-year to 5.34 billion kWh in September 2014, German renewable energy institute IWR said today, citing data by the German Energy Exchange (EEX).
Wind electricity production declined by 27.9% to 2.45 billion kWh when compared to September 2013, while solar power generation increased by 9.1% and reached 2.89 billion kWh in the one-year period.
In month-on-month terms, wind and solar power production together declined by more than 25.6%, IWR said. Wind power plants produced 25.3% less electricity than in August 2014 and solar parks had a decline in output of 25.7%.
September 2014 does not come even close to the top ten months with the highest wind and solar power generation, according to IWR. The most productive month for wind and solar power plants was December 2011 with 8.7 billion kWh of combined output.
