World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTNov 26, 2012 – Germans are more willing to set against increasing electricity prices by investing in solar energy, South Korean LG Electronics (SEO:066570) said on Monday, citing a survey of consultancy firm TNS Emnid.
According to the survey, more than one-fifth of the polled Germans are open to investments in a solar power plant.
Almost every tenth German, on the other hand, has already launched measures to fight against the continuing increase in electricity prices.
Around one-third of the polled Germans are considering purchasing energy-efficient appliances, according to the survey, which was carried out upon the request of LG Electronics.
Those, who invest in solar power, are able to benefit from the tariff provided by the state for the next 20 years, the vice president of LG Electronics Germany’s European solar business group, Michael Harre, commented, adding that upgrades in energy storage and smart grids will significantly increase the savings potential for consumers.
