Germany's Federal Network Agency has initiated two tenders, inviting proposals for 258 MW of rooftop solar capacity and 233.7 MW for biomass-fired power plants.

Submissions for both auctions are expected by October 1, 2024, the agency said on Tuesday.

The maximum value of proposals for rooftop solar systems is established at EUR 0.105 per kWh.

In July, the Federal Network Agency selected 119 rooftop solar projects with a combined capacity of 259 MW in a previous tender round. These come on top of 125 projects totalling 264 MW picked in a preceding round in March.

The value for projects competing in the biomass power tender was limited to EUR 0.1943 per kWh for new plants and EUR 0.1983 per kWh for existing plants. The previous round was oversubscribed, leading to a decrease in the average prices. Eventually, 243 MW of projects for biomass-fired power plants were selected.
