Germany's Conecon to complete 55 MW solar plant in Romania in Sept

The Romanian unit of Germany's Conecon plans to complete in September the construction of a 70 million euro ($91.5 million) photovoltaic park with a capacity of 55 megawatts (MW) in central Romania, the unit said on Wednesday.

Construction works on the solar plant, located in Romania's Ucea de Sus town, started on April 24, a Conecon spokesman told SeeNews over the phone.

The company is currently in talks with the investor about the project's second phase, which will boost the park's combined capacity to 168 MW, he added.

Ucea de Sus is located in the central Romanian county of Brasov.

Conecon is a German-headquartered solar power park developer with branches in Italy, Turkey, Spain and Romania. It has solar projects in nine European countries.
