Jordan Green agrees land deal for solar-powered green ammonia hub
Sep 20, 2024 5:52 CESTBELGRADE (Serbia), February 7 (SeeNews) – Germany’s EnviTec Biogas said it will start the construction in March of a biogas plant in the village of Curug, in northern Serbia.
The contract for the plant with a rated electrical output of 635 kilowatts was awarded by Velvet Farm, a member of feed manufacturer Global Seeds, EnviTec Biogas said in a statement on its website.
EnviTec Biogas said the contract was won by its subsidiary EnviTec Biogas South East Europe in a competitive procedure.
The value and completion date of the project were not disclosed.
The plant will generate electricity and heat from liquid manure and maize silage from a local dairy farm, cutting the cost of its dairy production by using the heat generated.
Market studies carried out by EnviTec Biogas have shown that there are 20 businesses in Curug that are similar to the dairy farm and could benefit from a biogas plant.
“Once the plant has been taken into service and runs successfully, we expect to win further contracts in Serbia. Negotiations with some prospects are already underway,” CCO of EnviTec Biogas Roel Slotman said in the statement.
Lohne-based EnviTec Biogas AG (www.envitec-biogas.de) covers the entire value chain for the production of biogas, including the planning and turnkey construction of biogas plants as well as their commissioning.
