Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTGerman wind and solar farms developer Notus Energy said it has completed the construction of the 102.6 MW Selac wind farm in Kosovo's Mitrovica municipality, a project worth 170 million euro ($197.9 million) in which the main investor is Israeli renewable energy company Enlight Energy.
The wind farm, encompassing 27 wind turbines, is the largest in Kosovo and can provide electricity to over 100,000 households, accounting for up to 10% of Kosovo's electricity consumption, Notus Energy said in a statement earlier this week.
Notus Energy also built a 120 MW substation at the site to transform the wind farm's electricity output to the 110 kV level as well as a 20-kilometre overhead power line to the town of Vushtrria.
The project was financed with a 58 million euro loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as well as loans from Erste Bank Austria and Slovenian lender NLB. About one third of the project cost is financed by the owners, according to the statement.
The wind farm is expected to start regular operations on November 30, after the trial phase is completed.
