World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTJun 6, 2014 - The total surplus in Germany's green levy account grew by EUR 40 million in May to EUR 1.69 billion (USD 2.31bn), German renewable energy institute IWR said on Tuesday.
The green levy account is managed by the transmission system operators and tracks the balance between the expenditure on feed-in-tariffs and the revenues from levy payments by consumers and sales of green power.
However, the EUR 40 million surplus in May is much lower than the April's EUR 100 million, continuing the declining trend from March when it fell to EUR 372 million from EUR 944 million in February.
In January 2014, the green levy account swung to a surplus for the first time in 19 months.
