Bulgaria's NEK opens tender for new turbines at pumped storage plant
Sep 18, 2024 13:50 CESTSOFIA (Bulgaria), November 19 (SeeNews) – German biofuel producer Verbio plans to build a 45 million euro ($57.5 million) biogas plant near the town of Isperih, in northeastern Bulgaria, the Isperih local authorities said.
The construction works are planned to begin at the end of 2013, as the plant is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2015, the municipality of Isperih said in a statement on Friday.
The plant’s capacity will be 30 megawatts, for which it will need about 100,000 tonnes of straw per year.
The plant will create 40 jobs directly and a further 200 indirectly.
