Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTIndependent power producer (IPP) Globeleq has inked a joint development agreement with the government of Togo to add up to 30 MW of renewables capacity in the West African country.
The capacity of the proposed utility-scale renewables project will range between 24 MW and 30 MW. This could be a hydropower plant (HPP), a combined HPP and solar photovoltaic (PV) park or a solar PV plant with integrated battery storage, Globeleq said on Wednesday.
The capacity will be installed at a site between Kara and Dapaong, depending on the selected technology, and will be connected into a transmission line that is currently being constructed. To be developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the project will be implemented to support the Togolese government’s industrial development policy and efforts to promote the deployment of renewables that will increase the country’s energy independence.
