Engie North America, part of French utility Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) has struck a deal to deliver to Google LLC green power from its 350-MW Chillingham solar project in Texas, which is due to go online later this year.

Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) search engine operator will offtake electricity from 90 MW of the project’s overall capacity, Engie North America said on Thursday. The duration of the power purchase agreement (PPA) was not specified.

The Chillingham photovoltaic (PV) farm is being installed north of Austin, in Texas’ Bell County. Google will use procured electricity from the plant to meet the demand of its Texas operations.

The PPA was facilitated through LevelTen Energy's Accelerated Process (LEAP), co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy to streamline clean energy buying and selling. Its signing backs Google's goal to run on 24/7 carbon-free energy on every grid where the company operates by 2030.

So far, Engie and Google have signed five renewable energy PPAs globally.
