Govt incentives to boost Asia Pacific PV systems market revenue in 2011 - Frost & Sullivan

(ADPnews) - Mar 14, 2011 - Government support can lead to a 41.9% revenue growth in the Asia Pacific photovoltaic (PV) systems market in 2011, a report of Frost & Sullivan says.

The US consultancy's Asia Pacific Solar PV Systems Outlook report studies the market tendencies, installed capacity, revenue, main policies and regulations, and provides market share and customer analyses for the PV systems market in North Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

According to the report, the market has a large and untapped potential, but strong government support is required because the PV systems are still an expensive source of energy production despite the falling prices globally.

The analyst added that electrification opportunities through solar power in rural and remote areas, where the utility grid establishment is not viable, will also help attract solar PV systems developers in Southeast Asia and Australia and New Zealand.
