Cero reaches commercial operations at 100-MW solar farm in Greece
Sep 02, 2024 15:01 CESTThe Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy has given the thumbs up to the construction of a 303.7-MWp complex of solar parks in the Central Macedonia region of Greece, according to domestic news portal Newmoney.
The approval was granted to developer SVS Group, a Greece-based company which is 50%-controlled by Green Investments MAE.
The photovoltaic (PV) complex will consist of 18 plants located in the Melenikitsi village in the Serres regional unit, with none of them covering special protection zones such as national forests and wetlands. The site will be equipped with 532,871 monocrystalline, double-sided, silicon solar panels with individual capacities of 570 Watts and made by China’s Jinko Power Technology Co Ltd. The inverters, totalling 1,5078, will be supplied by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.
In addition to the solar farms, the project also envisages the installation of a new 400 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line with a length of 680 metres (2,230 feet).
