Greenvolt Next has switched on a 1.17-MWp solar system for Teixeira Duarte (ELI:TDSA) at the conglomerate's operational hub in the city of Montijo in southern Portugal.

The distributed generation (DG) arm of Portuguese renewables developer and power producer Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) announced the completion of the project on Thursday, saying that now-operational solar array consists of 2,155 modules.

With an estimated annual generation of 1,716 MWh, the system can help Teixeira Duarte offset 823 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year.

As of the first quarter of 2024, the Greenvolt Group has a DG backlog of 246 MWp throughout Europe, the company said.
