Greenvolt Next has signed a deal to install a total of 2.1 MW of solar panels for agri-food, food distribution and tourism group Financor.

The distributed generation (DG) unit of Portuguese renewables company Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) said today it will deploy nearly 3,880 solar panels for nine units of the group located in Portugal's Azores region, an archipelago in the mid-Atlantic.

Once up and running, the solar panels will be capable of producing 2.6 GWh annually, generating savings for Grupo Financor's hotels, supermarkets and factories. This power purchase agreement (PPA) between the two companies will also help Financor achieve its decarbonisation and sustainability plan of 3.5 MW of solar at its facilities.

Greenvolt Next noted that the Greenvolt's total renewable energy DG backlog is currently at 312 MWp.
