Portuguese renewables company Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) announced today the launch of a new company with the goal of exploring the high potential of distributed generation (DG) renewable energy in Greece.

Greenvolt Next Greece will be offering distributed power generation solutions with energy sourced from renewables. It will explore the Greek market in partnership with local technology products and home appliances distributor Globalsat-Teleunicom Group.

According to Greenvolt, the new business will focus on the development of self-consumption solar projects and the creation and management of energy communities and electric vehicle (EV) charging networks.

“Entering the Greek market is a crucial step towards establishing the company as a leader in the distributed generation segment, which will be an increasingly critical factor for the sustainability and diversification of the energy mix in Europe," Greenvolt's CEO Jao Manso Neto said.

Greenvolt now has a DG renewable energy solutions unit present in four countries -- Portugal, Spain, Poland and Greece.
