Renewables company Greenvolt Next will install a 4.45-MWp self-consumption solar system (UPAC) in Portugal for local paper goods firm Renova.

The subsidiary of energy firm Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) said on Monday that the solar system will consist of a total of 7,916 photovoltaic (PV) panels installed both on the rooftops of industrial spaces and on adjacent land. There are also plans to implement solar carports to charge Renova's electric car fleet.

Once up and running, the solar arrays will be able to produce 6,400 MWh of clean energy annually for the client. The solar energy will power Renova's industrial, logistics and mobility operations, thus reducing its dependence on the national electricity grid.

Greenvolt Next Portugal currently has 150 MWp booked for future development.
