French renewable energy company GreenYellow is implementing a 3.39-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Brazil's Birigui municipality, Sao Paulo state, the local government announced on Thursday.

Featuring 4,928 solar panels, the renewable power facility will require an investment of more than BRL 16 million (USD 2.8m/EUR 2.6m). Once up and running, the PV park should be capable of generating 6.7 GWh of clean electricity per year.

This project is part of Birigui's plan to attract new businesses to explore the city's energy potential and solidify its role in clean energy production. GreenYellow has been operating in Brazil since 2013.
