Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTIndian renewables consultancy and project developer GreenZo Energy Pvt Ltd said today it has signed a pact with API Power Company Pvt Ltd to develop green hydrogen projects totalling 50 MW across Nepal by 2025.
Under the terms of the newly-signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), the Nepal-based renewable power producer will invest INR 10 billion (USD 125.2m/EUR 124.5m) in the construction of facilities that can generate 4,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. The partnership with GreenZo will begin with a 1-MW pilot at the 8.5-MW Naugarh Gad hydroelectric plant. Similar projects are planned at solar parks as well.
“Our country is rich in hydropower with 20,000 MW of projects under development and the seasonal nature of resources from our vast network of 6,000 rivers necessitates hydrogen storage,“ commented Sanjeev Neupane, managing director of API Power.
As previously announced, GreenZo plans to invest between INR 3 billion and INR 4 billion in the construction of a 250-MW electrolyser factory in India. In the latest press release, the company says it has commenced scaling up its operations for the electrolyser production facility.
