A group of more than eight companies has agreed to buy renewable energy certificates (RECs) associated with a 55-MW onshore wind farm that was recently repowered by Clearway Energy Group in Texas.

RECs marketplace Ever.green announced on Wednesday that it purchased the certificates on behalf of various corporate buyers, including Atlassian Corp (NASDAQ:TEAM), Arrow Electronics Inc (NYSE:ARW), Autodesk Inc (NASDAQ:ADSK), Brooks Running, Compose[d], Medallia, Trimble Inc (NASDAQ:TRMB) and more.

The Ocotillo Windpower wind farm is situated in Big Spring. It was originally launched into operation in 2008 and Clearway completed a partial repower in 2023.

The repowering project replaced major components across the site’s 26 turbines, including blades, generators, gearboxes and drive train parts for some turbines, and upgraded operating systems for all turbines, according to an earlier statement by Clearway. The latter acquired the project to extend the life of the facility in 2020.
