French glass bottle manufacturer Groupe Pochet has contracted clean power from a 20-MWp solar farm being built by ABO Wind AG (ETR:AB9) in France, the latest solar project of the German renewables developer in the country.

The electricity from the solar farm, which is expected to be switched on in 2025, will be procured under a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA), the companies announced jointly on Tuesday.

The contracted volumes will be used to cover part of the power needed for a new electric furnace for luxury bottles manufacturing that Groupe Pochet will launch into operation this year.

The agreement with ABO Wind and the new machine are both aligned with the French firm’s goal to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 50% by 2033.
