Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTJun 14, 2012 - China’s Hainan province is emerging as a major photovoltaic (PV) base and is expected to become the country’s biggest solar PV cell manufacturing hub in four years, Xinhua reported, citing the local Industry and Information Technology Bureau.
Chinese solar product major Yingli Green Energy Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:YGE) is among the companies establishing their facilities in the region. The company has established various projects in the province, including a manufacturing facility, a solar PV laboratory and a service centre.
Xinhua also wrote that other major solar energy companies are establishing units in the area but did not provide specific names.
