Qcells parent Hanwha Solutions Corp (KRX:009830) and its rival in the production of solar panels, Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599), have reached a patent licensing and transfer agreement that puts an end to all pending legal cases between the two companies.

Hanwha Solutions and Trina Solar announced the deal on Friday, noting that it allows both parties to use each other’s solar patents. Each company will continue to offer and support their respective products in various markets, they said.

“This agreement will further drive technology development of the PV industry and provide advanced and reliable products to accelerate the progress of a net-zero future,” their joint statement reads.

The two companies have been suing each other over patent infringements for some time now. In December, Hanwha won a case in Germany before Trina launched a separate one in China the following month.
