Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTOct 23, 2012 - German firm Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG (ETR:H2FA), Kuwait's National Technology Enterprises Co (NTEC) and the Kuwait Scientific Research Institute (KISR) Tuesday inaugurated a self-sufficient energy solutions site using only renewable energy sources in Kuwait.
Energy efficiency specialist Heliocentris has partnered with the KISR to build the Clean Power Site, located at the institute. The facility uses the latest green technology and energy management systems, Heliocentris said in a statement today, adding that it would also provide the main technologies and technical know-how for the site.
The Clean Power Site will be a centre for applied research on clean energy solutions and a hub for industrial customers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The site integrates wind turbine, solar modules, batteries, a fuel cell system, on-site hydrogen production and a diesel generator, which will be used as an additional backup in bad weather conditions. It will produce enough power to offset up to several hundred tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, according to the statement.
Heliocentris and NTEC have signed a joint venture agreement and are establishing Heliocentris Kuwait, Heliocentris added.
