Alternus scraps deal for 80-MWp solar project purchase in US
Sep 20, 2024 7:40 CESTUS technology giant Honeywell International Inc (NYSE:HON) announced it has been selected as a battery energy storage systems (BESS) provider for a 140-MW DC portfolio of six solar farms to be developed by solar installer VIElectron, a CB Loranger company.
The solar sites are located in the three US Virgin Islands -- St Thomas, St Croix and St John. Honeywell will be providing 124 MWh of BESS, including an end-to-end battery management system with an integrated safety system, according to a statement released Tuesday.
Once operational, the solar array and BESS are aimed at advancing the islands' decarbonisation efforts by fulfilling 30% of its energy consumption through renewable sources.
Marion, Massachusetts-based CB Loranger Companies is a renewable energy developer specialised in solar, electrical and ammonia generation.
