Chinese solar manufacturer Huasun Energy has won a bid to deliver heterojunction (HJT) modules for 1 GW of offshore photovoltaic (PV) parks to be installed by Power China in the Shandong Province of eastern China.

The N-type HJT hardware will be used by Power Construction Corporation of China (Power China) for the first two sections of its project, Huasun said on Thursday.

The offshore project, to be executed in the marine area of Aoshan Bay, will be equipped with Huasun's G12-132 V-Ocean HJT solar modules. According to the manufacturer, this is the first certified module in China designed for offshore PV applications.

A few weeks earlier, Huasun joined hands with state-owned Xinjiang Silk Road New Energy Co Ltd, committing to focus on research and development (R&D) initiatives and the production and marketing of HJT solar cells and modules. The collaboration calls for Huasun to supply over 1 GW of HJT products annually, including silicon wafers, cells, and modules.
