Greek industrial group Mytilineos SA will collaborate with China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd on solar projects around the world.

Under the memorandum of cooperation, Huawei will supply its string inverters for photovoltaic (PV) facilities developed by Mytilineos in the UK, Uzbekistan, Spain, Cyprus and other countries, the Chinese company said on Wednesday.

"We have decided to strengthen our cooperation further with Huawei in a large part of our portfolio globally, greatly based on the reliability of the inverters that ensure our plants' performance even in harsh environments, as well as on their integrated advanced attributes that facilitate installation and reduce our operating cost," Nikos Papapetrou, general manager of Mytilineos RSD business unit, said in statement.

Huawei has already partnered with Mytilineos' renewables and storage development (RSD) unit in Greece.

Outside Greece, Mytilineos has 400 MW of solar farms under construction, 501 MW of shovel-ready projects, 361 MW awaiting the start of construction at the end of 2021 or in early 2022, and 4,000 MW of schemes at an initial or intermediate licensing stage.
